Story here:

AT&T is planning to add 75 new cell sites in North Carolina this year, the company said in an announcement.

The expansion of its 3G network in the state is part of regional growth in the Southeast that will add a total of about 600 sites.

The new sites will support new high-speed 3G service is Wilmington, Asheville, Hickory, Greenville and Havelock, and expanded service in the existing 3G markets including the Triad, the company said.

The pace of network infrastructure growth is slowing in the state, though. The company said it added nearly 200 new cell sites in North Carolina last year.

I am totally addicted to my iPhone, so I have no option other than to use AT&T. I have no complaints about AT&T, the service works well and their 3G network is good. Of course, there are always going to be some bad patches, especially in these mountains, but in Asheville and environs, AT&T is pretty good.

I haven’t had a land line in years. No need for one.

Just a little story why you should switch to ATT. Roll over minutes and other product. I was with Verizon for 7 years until moving to Asheville. Because of the my location I could not get service and did not have a land line, I only had three Verizon phones. After 8 months of writing letters and emailing them about the issues they finally gave in and let me out of my contracts that would have cost hundreds of dollars otherwise. They sent techs to the house and everything and I have heard literally every excuse in the book and still I would take the time to call them back every week and explain the issue. ( while in my car ) By the way ATT works where I live just fine.

Anyways, with a little persistence miracles do happen.
