Hey, we were driving to Mt Mitchell today at around 8:30am and passed a guy near where 74 goes under the PKWY. He was riding a Unicycle with what looks to be a 29″ ATB tire on it. He was trucking up the hill on the PKWY. On the way back down from the top of Mt Mitchell later here he comes up the mountain. Who is this guy and is he a super hero or something. Now thats a workout, up and down.

Confirmed, it's Jeff Ray:

I guess Im famous. Been riding up to Mitchell for the past few weeks. Going to Wash. State in Sept to attempt to climb Mt. Baker during the 542 fest.

I'm going to guess Jeff Ray because he's not human, but there are several mountain unicyclists in town. Ben Richardson, who teaches at Erwin, is another. They hold a mountain unicycle fest every year. It's coming up soon:
