-Asheville-Buncombe Sports Commission new hire: The A-B Sports Commission, which is helmed by the tireless Ben VanCamp at the helm, has hired a new staffer, Micah Pulleyn. Here’s the announcement:
The Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission is proud to announce the addition of Micah Pulleyn to the staff. Micah will be focused on event planning and implementation.
Micah is a proud native of Asheville, and is delighted to serve her community with the Sports Commission. She has experience that ranges from large-scale race management and community events coordination to teaching, coaching, and outdoor education. She is also very involved in the community, helping to strengthen the arts, and volunteering for a number of non-profit agencies.
-Word on the street: Photog leaves Asheville Citizen-Times: The word is that photographer Katie Bailey, has left the newspaper, which has been advertising to hire a new photog.
-Word on the street 2: ALE out in force at LEAF: The word is that N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement agents were out in force at the first ever LEAF downtown festival, though I haven’t heard of any enforcement activity. Local ALE agents have been on a roll lately.
