More of what’s going around:

-The Colonial Pipeline, a major artery that supplies gasoline to the Asheville area, backed off a Thursday morning statement that the pipeline would be shut down due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey, saying that fuel deliveries would be intermittent as it works through storm-related issues. The massive storm has forced refineries in Texas to close, which triggered the pipeline closure. Colonial Pipeline shutdowns have led to gas shortages in Western North Carolina in past years. It’s unclear how long the Colonial Pipeline will be closed, the Washington Post reports. Meantime, gas prices have climbed steadily since the storm hit Texas last week. And the timing couldn’t be worse, with the Labor Day weekend coming right up.

-Something’s up at 444 Riverside Drive in the River Arts District. Ben Mixson, one of the owners of the popular White Duck Taco, is seeking a change of use for the site, according to city permit documents. The site used to be home to Asheville Auto Auction but has recently been cleaned up. There’s a White Duck Taco nearby, the restaurant’s first location, at 1 Roberts St.

-Asheville police are seeking the public’s help regarding a suspicious death. Here’s the press release:

-Asheville City Council’s Sept. 26 meeting has been rescheduled to Oct. 3, a city spokeswoman says. The Unified Development Ordinance public hearing regarding an amendment to utility substations and related standards will be heard on Oct. 3. City Council’s next official meeting is Sept. 12.

Rogue Combat is planning to open at 811 Tunnel Road.

-Panda Express is planning to open a drive-through restaurant at 54 Tunnel Road.

-The fall leaf color around Asheville is going to be “the brightest in decades,” this dumb site shouts.

-The fall leaf color around Asheville might be a little more drab than past years, but it’s still going to be great, the Asheville Citizen-Times soberly reports.

-WLOS television news reporter Evan Donovan has announced that he’s leaving the station. Donovan arrived in Asheville in 2013. Here’s his statement:

With sadness in this moment but hope for the future, I want to let you all know today was my last day at WLOS ABC 13. I am so thankful for the time I spent at this great station, but it’s time for me to pursue opportunities for growth elsewhere. Asheville is an amazing place, mostly because of the people who live here. You have invited me into your homes, treated me like family, and I am so grateful.
