A few tidbits:

– Leonard Cohen is coming to Asheville in November. This is huge. Tickets are going fast.

– Former Price is Right host Bob Barker is scheduled to meet with Michell Hicks, chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, on Tuesday to talk about the tribe’s treatment of bears in captivity. Someone keep me posted on that.

– Asheville loves lesbians. So says this web site, which quotes another web site:

Some of SheWired’s choices for lesbian-friendly summer destinations might surprise you.

Asheville NC, Austin, Atlanta, and Philadelphia rank right up there with NYC, P-Town, Key West, Paris, and Berlin, the web site says.

About Asheville, whoseBela Cheremusic festival you see above:

“There are lots of golf courses in the area as well as hiking trails and other outdoor activities. Arts and crafts also are big here, along with a fantastic music scene.”

We’re sure you’re already packing.

$48 – $250 is a bit much to see anyone at the decripit civic center. Oh boy another burned out overrated artists coming to the civic center.

Just as a heads up to those seeking Leonard Cohen tickets….the site linked to here is not an official ticket-selling vehicle. Ticketmaster sells tickets for Civic Center shows and tickets are not officially on sale yet.
