The Anderson Independent Mail has the story about Asheville’s hottest singer-songwriter right now:

Mr. Ramsey cites ’80s alternative music — especially early R.E.M. — as a primary influence on his songwriting, as well. What grabbed the attention of Band of Horses leader Ben Bridwell, however, wasn’t so much Mr. Ramsey’s songwriting skills as his prowess on guitar. Weaned on such finger-picking greats as Leo Kottke, John Fahey and Michael Hedges, the young guitarist mixes the technical virtuosity of a jazz player with the sensibility of a folk-rocker.
