bed_of_nails_hi_wire_2013Exciting news from Asheville’s newest brewery:

Hi-Wire Brewing will help cap off Asheville Beer Week by taking part in their first beer festival – Beer City Festival in Downtown Asheville’s Pack Square Park, on Saturday, June 1st.

In addition, Hi-Wire’s first ever tasting event will take place the night before at downtown Asheville’s Thirsty Monk, consistently ranked one of the best beer bars in America. Listed on the Asheville Beer Week website as well as on the Thirty Monk’s, the Release Party is being described “Asheville’s newest brewery will be introducing their lineup of beers to the community! We will be tapping 10-13 of Hi-Wire’s new lineup from their core brands to seasonals to one-offs. Take advantage of being the first to welcome them to Asheville.”

Specializing in year-round, highly drinkable, or “sessionable” brews, Hi-Wire’s brewhouse has been active for months now brewing their all-new, four year-round beers: Prime Time Pale Ale; Hi-Pitch IPA; Bed of Nails Brown Ale; and Hi-Wire Lager.

Hand-drawn label designs for all four have been posted on Hi-Wire’s Facebook page and have been receiving tremendously positive feedback. In addition to their year-rounds, Hi-Wire’s first, summer seasonal – a Hefeweizen wheat ale – will also be featured at the Thirsty Monk event. They will also be tapping approximately a half dozen of Hi-Wire’s “Side Show Seasonal” small batch beers – including an Imperial Red Rye and a Saison.

Guests will have the chance to provide feedback directly to Hi-Wire’s owners on these small batch beers, including their ideas for potential names! About Hi-Wire Brewing Located in Downtown Asheville’s Brew District, Hi-Wire Brewing embraces its craft from top to bottom – from its hand-produced beers to its artwork, hand-drawn by a local artist.

Hi-Wire’s light-hearted circus theme embodies the fun, authenticity, and creativity of this deep-rooted craft. With beers on draught at area bars and restaurants as well as in 12-oz 6-packs from grocery, gas stations, and convenience stores, Hi-Wire Brewing will be available starting June, 2013. Featuring four year-round beers – Prime Time Pale, Hi-Pitch IPA, Bed of Nails Brown, and Hi-Wire Lager – and a rotating selection of seasonal offerings, Hi-Wire Brewing invites you to “Walk on the Wire Side”.

It’s a shame they painted over that mural. I understand the need to distance them as far as possible from the Craggie label but they should have left that.

Hey Jason, we wrestled pretty hard with painting over that mural. There was a part of us too that was sad to see it go. We’ve got some other cool ideas for that wall that we’re exploring right now! And we can’t wait to share the inside with everyone in June!
