The Beer City USA polling has closed, and once again, Asheville is in the top spot. Asheville won the nonscientific poll outright last year, too, and tied for first place with Portland two years ago.

There are plenty of folks who think the poll is a meaningless waste of time. But just take it for simply what it is – a fun, unofficial way of getting a feel for the depth of fans’ love for their local beer scene.

Eric, you are obviously NOT a local brewer or know anything about the brewery scene here in Asheville. This is called "Publicity" and "marketing" and something that we really like and desire. AND…its free. Which means Asheville beers become more popular and therefore demand increases and therefore more production and therefore more revenue. Pretty simple. So try to lay off the haterade and cut us some slack.

What a misleading and meaningless designation. Thank goodness most folks around here know that this fake poll means nothing to local brewers.

Still no jobs in sight coming to the area but we can win an online poll that means nothing!!!!

Way to go Asheville, buy into that fad, thats all your good at while good citizens are hurting and struggling.
