The Asheville Van Life Rally is set for Sept. 28 at Wedge Foundation. Here’s the press release:

Asheville’s third annual Van Life Rally returns to the Wedge Brewery at Foundation, at 5 Foundy Street, from 4-10 p.m. on Sept. 28. (Tickets here.) More than 100 adventure vehicles will be on display as a fundraiser for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Live music will be provided by Pleasure Chest and DJ Marley Carroll. Outdoor brands such as REI, Eurosport, Fifth Element Camping, Industry Nine, Sylvan Sport, YETI, NRS, & more will be represented. Admission is free for spectators, but vehicle owners and vendors must register via Eventbrite for a spot ($30 and $100 respectively). The Wedge Brewery is donating $1/pour back to the event.

The #vanlife community is growing rapidly, and Asheville is a hub of activity in the Southeast for all sorts of vehicle owners eager to hop on the road and take off for adventures. This event is for all the nomads, dirtbags, van conversion engineers, road trip dreamers, and weekend warriors to celebrate the wanderlust spirit together, AND for the community to come check out what the rage is all about. There will be a mobile recording studio, traveling unicycle gallery, mobile boutique, outdoor brands, food trucks, and vendors also participating in the Asheville Van Life Rally.

The first Asheville Van Life Rally was in 2015, in conjunction with the 5Point Adventure Film Festival, no longer active in Asheville. Former 5Point Asheville festival manager and national events director for 5Point, Micah Pulleyn, is continuing to produce the Van Life Rally, as the participants of the past two rallies urged her to continue the tradition. Micah, now a full time event producer, says, “this is primarily a community-driven event, made for, by, and with the van life family in our region. I am only here to create the opportunity for connection, creativity, and fellowship–the members of the community are the real keepers of this event. They are the ones who urged me to keep it going, and I listened. I am honored to bring people together–that’s what I love to do!”

At the time of this release, sponsors include the Wedge Brewery, UJoint Camper Vans, and Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. Sponsor opportunities are still available.

The Foundation is a 13-acre compound in the River Arts District, housing a bike shop, coffee house, co-op woodworking studios, and a middle school.

Micah Pulleyn is an Asheville native, and is the owner of Catalyst Collaborations, a brand new event production and project management company in Asheville, specializing in the outdoor industry and creative sector. The Asheville Van Life Rally is a production of Catalyst Collaborations.
