From the Ashveille Citizen-Times Girls Gone Outdoors blog, a reminder about the upcoming tri:

You’ve got 2 more days to get off the fence if you haven’t yet signed up for the Asheville Triathlon this Sunday. Maybe fewer days if the race fills up before Wednesday.

The Asheville Triathlon returns to Asheville Recreation Park at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, July 22, after taking last year off.

The race, presented by iDaph events and Right on Time Productions, is considered perfect for beginners with its non-threatening pool swim, but also a challenge for elite triathletes and a great race to PR. It features a 400-meter outdoor pool swim, an 11.6-mile bike ride on rolling hills and a relatively flat 5K run, all in East Asheville.

Entry fees are $65 per individual and $95 per three-person team. Register at www.imathlete.comthrough Wednesday, July 18. Registration is capped at 300. Each participant receives a technical T-shirt.
