Really fun. From loyal reader Jason:

I’ve been playing lead guitar in Asheville filmmaker Rod Murphy’s hilarious (but rather

ribald) bar band called On Golden Rond for the past year and a half or so.  We finished an album that’s set to unveil next Friday, below is a press release, and attached is a little trailer I put together for it.  If you are needing to fill some cyber-space, any post would be much appreciated!

The Cesspool of Sin now has its own soundtrack

Who: Rond (voted “Best Band in Asheville” by nearly all 17 friends of the Rond Facebook page).

What: The Rond CD release party for “On Golden Rond.”

Where: The Get Down in West Asheville

When: Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9:00 p.m.

Get down to the Get Down on Nov 19th for the CD release show for “On Golden Rond” — the long awaited debut CD from one of Asheville’s most sincere and sincerely misunderstood bands. Rond has been gigging around Asheville for several years now, attracting a loyal following of fans. Their live shows are riotous affairs, raucous and rump shakingly good for a band whose song lyrics include ruminations on life’s most awkward moments. Front man Rod Murphy’s songs stick in your head long after the last note has faded.  A solid rhythm section, harmonies, catchy guitar work and a trombone player of questionable sanity can’t hide the fact that sometimes Ronds songs are really about finding anonymous love in the woods at a highway rest-area.  – Brian Sarzynski
