A delicious tidbit: the Curate owners confirm they’re considering opening a second business downtown.
Ashvegas has heard whispers, and Curate’s crew would only say: “We are working on another concept located downtown. There is no opening date projected. The concept is being tweaked.”
That’s big news for a restaurant that has only been open in Asheville since March 2011. Since then, Chef Katie Button, her husband Felix and her mom, Liz, have been raking in the kudos. Button is a James Beard nominee again this year, her cooking is regularly receiving praise from foodies near and far and folks can’t seem to get enough.
Here’s wishing all the best to Katie, Felix, Liz and the rest of the Curate crew. They’ve created a wonderful place to celebrate life and dine with family and friends. I don’t eat there often (reporters’ budget here.) But I think they’ve done a great job of joining the community in the two years they’ve been open.
