The so-called “redevelopment” of the East End/Valley Street neighborhoods of Asheville remains of the forgotten chapters of Asheville. Go hear this woman speak.

Beginning in February of 2008, Pack Memorial Library will celebrate African-American History Month with an exhibit of photographs from the Andrea Clark Photography Collection. The exhibition will feature 50 photographs taken in the East End neighborhood of Asheville in the early 1970s. In addition to the exhibition, photographer Andrea Clark will speak at Pack Memorial Library, 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24. A reception and ?front porch discussion? of the changes in the East End neighborhood will follow.
