This is a great event. Here’s the press release:
Announcing Bike Love ‘16, Saturday, Feb. 13st @ Isis Restaurant and Music Hall
Asheville on Bikes (AoB), the advocacy organization focused on advancing Asheville’s urban and commuter bicycle culture and infrastructure, hosts the ninth annual Bike Love, presented by New Belgium Brewing, at Isis Restaurant and Music Hall. Bike Love is a celebration of Asheville’s cycling community. Bike Love ‘16 will focus on AoB’s growth as an advocacy organization as well as continue to deliver on Bike Love merriment.
“AoB made huge strides in ‘15. We’ve secured our 501(c)3 status, advocated successfully for Asheville’s first protected bike lane and onstreet bicycle parking facility, participated in the I26 project, and worked to defeat state legislation designed to curtail the growth of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. It’s been a big year for AoB, and ‘16 is going to be even bigger,” says AoB’s director, Mike Sule.
Bike Love ‘16 includes a VIP tapas style beer pairing featuring New Belgium Brewing beers from 6pm to 8pm before the main events. “We wanted a special way to appreciate our sponsors and invite others to enjoy a smallerscale social before Bike Love fires up. New Belgium and Isis are amazing partners, and I’m really excited about the menu options,” says Sule.
Bike Love ‘16 is set to include some longstanding Bike Love favorites as well. DJ Marley plays the late night dance set and The Digs with Ryan RnB Barber takes the stage following a series of fastpaced presentations.
The event wouldn’t be complete without a chance to win an Industry Nine wheelset, a New Belgium Brewing cruiser, or a $500 new bike voucher from participating bike shops, and course, there is silent auction items, too. The event also kicks off AoB’s annual membership drive.
