The Asheville Downtown Association is excited to announce the return of Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 9 from 12‐6pm on Wall Street.
“We’re excited to bring Oktoberfest back to downtown Asheville. Last year’s event exceeded all of our expectations and was even named ‘Beer Bash of the Year’ by local blog, Ashvegas,” said event organizer Adrian Vassallo.
The event will feature beer tastings from local breweries including Asheville Brewing Company, Craggie Brewing Company, Green Man Brewing, Highland Brewing Company, French Broad Brewery and Pisgah Brewing Company. Many brewers are featuring seasonal ales for Oktoberfest, and will be on hand to discuss their beers.
Also, Wall Street restaurants Cucina 24, Jack of the Wood, and The Market Place will be preparing authentic German fare served with local mustard from the Lusty Monk. Jubilee, a church based on Wall Street, will serve pretzels and water from a tent near its front door.
Back again, rollicking oompah band, The Stratton Mountain Boys will bring the harmonic sounds of alphorns, happy yodeling songs, shoe‐slapping dances, and lively, spirited music to the stage.
Tickets are $25 and include beer samples. Tickets will be available September 1 at ashevilledowntown.org. Last year’s event was a huge success and this year’s event is expected to sell out, so purchase early!
