Mission Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield announced on Tuesday that they had reached an agreement on a new contract. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

This past summer, Mission Health announced it was terminating its contract with Blue Cross, citing a breakdown in negotiations over reimbursements. The move upset thousands of Blue Cross insurance holders in Western North Carolina who faced higher costs for services. That contract officially ended on Oct. 4. The new deal goes into effect on Dec. 15.

Friday, Dec. 15 is also the deadline to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Pisgah Legal Services is helping people sign up. Here’s more from their press release regarding healthcare sign-ups:

Just like all big business vs. individuals…we the taxpayers lose and they continue to squirrel money into un-taxed off shore accounts. Sad state of affairs is an understatement!

What a predictable Kabuki theater that was. “Details undisclosed” means they both screwed us, a win-win!
