Wow…sad. So they really have no ambition for this to become anything more than a largely overlooked event where Asheville’s nouveau riche are given the opportunity to kiss the asses of a few C-list celebrities?
This event had such opportunity and great buzz (both in Asheville and beyond) the first year or two. There have been some good films there, and I’m sure some fantastic filmmakers continue to try to get their movies into the festival. Yet due to poor planning and even poorer publicity, here we are three weeks out and the common question appears to be "Asheville still have a film festival?"
