Asheville celebrity spotting: The Travelocity Gnome

Last week was a big week for the Travelocity the gnome, the official mascot of the popular Travelocity travel website.

The gnome, known for his distinguished beard and unmistakable hat, hit up Asheville’s hot bars and restaurants, as well as other cool sites. He got a massage at the Omni Grove Park Inn, stuffed his face at 12 Bones and downed beers at Wicked Weed and Burial Beer (where I had the pleasure of meeting him.) Other spots the Roaming Gnome hit: Rhubarb restaurant, Grand Bohemian, Red Stag Grill, the underground skate rink Thrashville, the streets of downtown Asheville, the trails of surrounding mountains and more.

The gnome even got a paint job by River Arts District artist Jonas Gerard.
