Intergalactic Hug-A-Monster Day is Wednesday, July 27, 2011. 

The Asheville-based blog Stuffmonsterslike.com is hosting this day dedicated to the creepy and the crawly amongst us. 

How do you participate? Easy. On July 27, take a photo of you hugging your favorite monster and send it to [email protected]. There are prizes for the best photos. 

Blog creators Sarah Giavedoni and Jim MacKenzie wanted yet another holiday to remember and celebrate the zany and macabre. 

Hugging your favorite mutant may be the best feeling you have all day. 

Because monsters are people too.
