ciderfest_2013Very cool! And it’s going to be at Echoview Fiber Mill! Here’s the press release:

The WNC Green Building Council is hosting the 1st Annual CiderFest NC! Four of Western North Carolina Cidermakers will participate in the festival held at the Echoview Fiber Mill- 76 Jupiter Road, Weaverville on Sunday November 10th, 2013 from 1P.M. – 5 P.M. CiderFest NC will be the first of its kind in Western North Carolina and will feature Black Mountain Ciderworks, McRitchie Winery & Ciderworks, Noble Hard Cider, and Urban Orchard Cider Co., as they serve up one of the coolest ways to use the many apples grown in our region.

The WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC) will be pairing the refreshing and naturally gluten-free hard ciders with local cheeses from Ashe County Cheese and Spinning Spider Creamery. Fresh apples and mulled cider with maple cream cookies will be provided by Earth Fare. WNCGBC’s CiderFest NC includes fall festivities for the whole family: a tour of Echoview Fiber Mill – the first LEED Gold certified manufacturing mill; “Hard Cider 101: The Sustainable Sauce” discussion by Urban Orchard Cider Co.; live old-time music; apple bobbing; cider & cheese tasting; cornhole tournaments; and pumpkin painting for the kids or young at heart!

All proceeds will support the important work the WNC Green Building Council has been doing for 12 years in our community: promoting environmentally sustainable and health conscious building practices through community education and innovative programs.
