After dozens of lay-offs in ’08, Asheville Citizen-Times looking to hire

The Asheville Citizen-Times laid off about 80 employees in 2008. At the start of 2009, the newspaper appears to be ready to add some people back. The newspaper is currently advertising the following jobs:

• Circulation clerk: Handling all aspects of customer service for our customers.

• Associate online producer: Perform data entry and database maintenance in support of Citizen-Times.com products, including phone and e-mail verification of information.

• Design assistant: Proofreading of all ads processed through the Ad Operations department. Collection and distribution of advertising materials.

    *does not include furlough weeks off.
