WVler is right on the money. And to confirm, Karen actually posted a message on WLOS’s facebook page stating that it was "nice to be chief for that half hour".
Mountain Man is correct…I saw the same broadcast and they definately identified Wynne as the chief, and more than once.

This is silly. No, Karen is not. Jason Boyer retains that title.
Please let this NOT be true. I can barely watch when she is on. Where’s Jason??? I thought he was the chief weather dude. Nothing on the WLOS website about any changes.
Probably what happened is since Karen was filling in for Jason, the producer probably forgot to change the 2nd line of the super and just updated the name by replacing Jason with Karen. It’s probably the same with the script that Larry read. It was probably default "Chief Meteorologist Jason Boyer…" in the script and the name was changed and no one caught the chief part.
If it’s like any other station, the rundown is a template with the common items for each show, such as anchor supers and generic scripts that are used every night, already in place when the producer starts working on it.
Jason is still the Chief.
NO, Jason Boyer is the Chief Meteorologist for WLOS News 13.
The website has Jason listed as the chief ….
Please….no. Or at least please find her another stylist!
