Please disregard previous comment. It was a rant.
You rich South Ashevillans complaining about your new problems with vagabonds. I am curious to know how many of you depend on somebody else to get by. Be smug now. The playing fields are being leveled. It would be funny if you who complain about the losers in society would turn off your TV
and find out who they really are. You may be next. And leg hugger lady. I've seen this ad for months. Get over it. How much leg were you showing anyway?

Many of Asheville’s homeless were folks one or two paychecks away from loosing their rental apt. or home. They flow evenly in and out of the shelters as each family or individual gets another job or jobs, and they save to rent again. But about 25% are hard core transients who camp all year around and like it that way. they could not stay within the social structure usually because of serious mental health issues. Then there are the addicts, Really not alot IN Asheville compared to other cities.
Then there are the buses that come from big cities like Atlanta who round up their homeless and put them on a bus to Asheville. Unbelieveable but it happens all the time – so there is a constant flow of new and potentally dangerous folks dumped out in your town on a regular basis,
What bothers me is that while volunteering ata shelter and getting to know the people and their plights, there were two murders, not one detective was seen around asking questions and they remain unsolved. Just as the woman from Philly remains unsolved. And believe what you will, two big time psychics went to her murder site and told police five more bodies are buried there and gave a profile of the murderer. So …No, be aware at all times wherever you are – even in your own yard friends, God Bless
perhaps it was this guy all along?

I’m told the gent in the aforementioned Craigslit entry is the suspect featured in this story:

ha! Ha! Can I hug your legs… now that’s a bad pick up line for sure. Poor Bastard.
They gotta sleep somewhere. I see them all the time making there way to the Walmart to beg for money or the underpass at Long Shoals. There is even a transient camp on Ledbetter road near the river.
"You got it"….it’s not ABCCM . It’s the Able Body Labor temporary labor service employer on Hendersonville Road. There is a HUGE homeless on the other side of Hendersonville Road full of folks that work temp jobs out of there.
The temporary labor services in Asheville are the main attractions for many of the transients that frequent not only downtown, but South Asheville now, also.
I am a client at ABCCM I am working to get my self out of poverty. If it wasn’t for ABCCM I could not get the medication I need to stay alive. Also there are bad people everywhere including rich and middle class. I thank god for places like these as do a lot of people that have no choice but to use them. I will say a prayer for you after I quit fuming over your insensitive comment. God Bless ABCCM and God Bless you
thank you 4 your comment Pegi.. I have a job but live out of my van, at present.. I wish I could make the money needed for a place to call home, in a neighborhood I could feel safe in BUT… those 2 idea’s do not go together for folks of low income, who are on that financial road into recovery.. support systems like the ABCCM who have helped me with a dental repair (a broken wisdom tooth pulled). I wouldn’t have been able to function now 2 work my job or even live a normal life with the serious pain that comes from an abscessed tooth/mouth.. Im blessed that ABCCM was there for me and I didn’t “HAVE TO” resort to drugs or alcohol because HONESTLY.. that would have been my only other option to help in subside the pain of a broken tooth that which I could not have afforded to have removed on my low income.. its a catch 22..
ALSO.. you are correct in saying.. bad people are in every financial class.. people of poverty are like that of the family dog that gets the blame when someone releases nasty flatulence.. its easier to blame the homeless and the poverty for everything nasty that goes wrong.. pray for us all.. we silly silly poor poor people.. when will we stand up and realize we are all the same and to help me (and others like me) is #1 your duty and #2 the ripple affect of reaching out to those who need it the very most, will bring the giver a reward of tenfold. its not just written in the Blble.. every culture know of the gifts of giving 2 those in need.
Oh by the way. Thank you ABCCM for bringing South Asheville all the dirty transients and panhandlers you brought to Pritchard Park over the years. Thanks for spreading around all the crime evenly.
Probably one of the transients that hangs out in the Walmart parking lot. Shoppers beware and don’t leave your car unlocked.
If you dont have nice things to said about Asheville dont said is bad people all over i live in miami beach 2 bedrooms cost $ 3000. And the people are worst than asheville, there are badpeople all over and is true that you never know your destiny and you can be homeless one day too, not every homeless is bad i met a lot of great people, and you know i see that negative people have always a lot to say. Asheville is a beautiful place full of great people i have a house there and another in cool miami beach and i travel the world and trust me there are good and bad everywhere, is just your focus. So if we really want ths world to become abetter place lets help each othergreat teachers have come to this world to teach about this basic principle and if we want a better world lets start with ourselves, if not is just a theory and we willnever find peace. Lets make love not war! Remember? Peace starts at home
