One of the guys at the BrewCo told me they’re a cult (surprise, surprise) and the headquarters is up near Barnardsville somewhere – a big farm. I don’t like them because I always see 2 or 3 women with one guy, and all the women and little girls have to wear long dresses and have long hair. They’re definitely creepy as all get out. So anyway my BrewCo contact said that they go to jam shows and recruit what he referred to as "spun out hippie chicks on too much acid" and get them to come stay at the farm, then bam, before you know it, they’ve signed everything over to the cult, are dressed in long homespun, become a co-wife and are forced to wander Asheville eternally. Or something like that.
Nice clothes. I like the smock things. A lot.
And that Mind/Matter Chicken/Egg thing needs to be on more t-shirts!
I think they are some sort of Christian splinter group, Mennonite-ish in their ways, living simply, etc. They seem to eschew commercialism in their manner of dress.
I think these guys ought to have one day a week where they get all Fubu-ed out, just for yucks.
I think I’ve spotted them reading Bibles.
Why doesn’t Mountain Expess have a "Best local religious splinter group" category? Sigh.
Looks like a local blacksmith’s convention.
Who are they? Anyone know?
