We’re kinda burned out on the news, so we’ll just give you a few highlights from Thursday:

Cherub Charu says water lines in Ashvegas break when the weather goes from warm to really cold. There was a water line break down on Hendersonville Road Thursday.

John “Punnyman” Le played with Gus the Groundhog at the WNC Nature Center in advance of Groundhog Day.

A 23-year-old Old Fort police officer died in a one-car crash Thursday night. He was on his way to help another officer when he wrecked.

Kyle Greathouse, the Western Carolina University basketball player injured last week in a car wreck, is now charged with DWI. The cops initially charged the woman in the car with him with DWI, but the cops now say that Greathouse was the driver when the vehicle went off the road and into the Tuckaseegee River.

Ashvegas City Councilman Jan Davis wants to build a memorial to the old Asheville Speedway. The speedway was turned into a wonderful park, and that’s where the memorial would be.

Chief Mike Cuevas said yeah, he got the weather forecast wrong, but so did everybody else.
