Are you serious, kj? An empty guardhouse? Does that work? I mean if we all know it’s empty, surely the nefarious guys know too!
and we are the ones paying the stormwater bills they just sent out? i think the folks building on our mountaintops should foot that one. as for RM being gated, there will never be a guard there or denied access, just an empty gatehouse to scare people off. it is still, and should stay, accessible to everyone.
I grew up at the base of Reynolds Mountain in Woodfin. My parents loved the beauty of the mountain and hiking through there. I am thankful they are not alive to see this. It would break their hearts.
It is horrible. The one aspect of the development that was somewhat nice is that you could hike up the new roads and get some nice views with your exercise. But now they’ve gated off the mountain, so us hoi polloi can’t walk up there.
Yeah, Ptaak, when the mountain ends up in Beaver Lake, folks are really gonna be pissed.
The closer you get, the worse it looks! This pic actually does it a favor. I think this is probably the best example of irresponsible development. Where did the trees go? I can’t imagine the erosion that will take place; and really can’t imagine any sort or permit that would allow this to happen! I had to put up retaining walls, etc. before I could build my 24’X36′ garage!
