A brand new Facebook Page announces the intention. Looks like it’s a way off.

Welcome to my new FB page as I start my journey to create Addissae Ethiopian Restaurant here in Asheville NC. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to open a restaurant to serve wonderful Ethiopian food to friends and to share all the special things about my culture. Stay tuned!! And wish me luck!!!

A friend on Twitter says the restauranteur is Neeraj Kebede, who owns Asheville Green Cottage with his wife, Vicki Schomer.

So when do you anticipate opening your Ethiopian Restaurant? Do you sell spices?

Can’t wait. My husband and I search every city we visit for Ethiopian food. You have 100% of our support.

Thanks everyone. Pedaling as fast as I can to get the restaurant opened. Gotten good suggestions for locations. Lots in the works now, so your ideas and good wishes are really appreciated.

For years, when I would read the results of the Mountain Xpress “Best of Asheville” poll and the question of what type of restaurant people wanted it was always Ethiopian. Best of luck to the new owner! We are so blessed to have so much variety in our little city.

Neeraj. Enjera! Doro wot! Kai wot! TIBS! Too good to be true. PLEASE hurry… we’re dying for the lack of real enjera in WNC! (Hope you will offer the option of enjera made with real teff – not just rice!) Amaseganalo! – Johnny & Becky – 7 times teaching in Addis.
