Here’s the info.

A little background – Ponderwell was one of the local companies bidding on a city of Asheville-funded project to create a new community-powered media site that council members eventually decided not to fund. Ponderwell is pushing forward with its vision.

Info from the WNC AdGuild on fb:

Ponderwell has a new project launching. WNC AdGuild is a new way to promote and support local business and community-building in WNC. For more info, visit our website.

Those faceless, national ad networks don’t live here; we do. We give independently owned businesses the ability to spread their online ads across a greater number and variety of local content sites.
Advertisers get more bang for the buck because we use image ads and focus on their target audience – people in or visiting WNC.

Publishers promoting the local region with great content can now host advertising for the local businesses they know and love.

Who are the WNC AdGuild?
We are a vertical ad network, linking web and mobile publishers in the mountains of Western North Carolina to regional advertisers. This allows small businesses in the mountains, who may have never had the experience or capability to explore web advertising, to advertise online to residents and visitors in a simple and effective manner.
Why should you join with us?

There is a burgeoning movement across the country and a strong commitment in our area to the idea of keeping your dollars local. Here is an opportunity to help your neighbors while helping yourself.

With WNC AdGuild, promoting and growing your enterprise go hand in hand with supporting the WNC community and building a stronger local economy. We want to see the unique economic climate in our area flourish and we are committed to helping you achieve your business goals.
