From Bill Rhodes at West Asheville Watch:

Want to do something positive as the West Asheville community to help victims and their families of both Hurricane Sandy and the Sandy Hook school shootings?

We are in the planning phases of a bash to be held the last weekend of Jan. most likely on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at a yet-to-be determined West Asheville location.

Ahead of the event we will sell raffle tickets for fabulous prizes which we cannot reveal quite yet, but you WILL be interested, I promise. The bash will have West Asheville bands, and an auction of community-donated items.

Since it is winter in the mountains the theme, of course will be… Tropical Beach Paradise.
We will need volunteers before and at the event, items to be donated, bands (the more the merrier!), people to spread the word, sell tickets, et cetera. All proceeds, save minor administrative costs, will go to relief agencies.
