Dunkin Sucks! They do not make the donuts fresh! They are hours old and stale.
By the way Krispy Kreme is nothing but a piece of candy shaped like a donut. Dunkin Donuts used to be real donuts, now they are nothing but frozen food, thawed and served.
You can get real donuts at Carolina Mountain Bakery, and possible Sisters McMullin Don’t judge until you have had a real donut. Repeat, Krispy Kreme is not a real donut.
Not a big fan of Krispy…Dunkin’ isn’t ideal, but I prefer it substantially more. FDR is dead-on regarding “don’t judge until you have had a real donut.”
FDR – Yesterday I read this post, and I would like to respond. I am part of the franchise group fpr Dunkin Donuts, in the Asheville market. Our donuts are still made by hand, in Asheville. We operate a bakery, at one location, and transport the donuts to each store daily. If you are interested, you can email me at [email protected], for more details. The reason we do not make the donuts at each separate location, is the cost to purchase baking equipment for each store. Thanks, Scott
If its going to be a chain dougnut shop AT LEAST get Krispy Kreme. DD is the bottom of the barrel. Anybody that would “love” to have a DD downtown needs to move to Greenville.
Meant to type- if anybody wants to “bring on DD” to downtown, needs to move to Greenville.
Too bad DD is not coming downtown. I see people were crying about the possibility of DD opening up at S&W on the comment thread for the MountainX story (same old tired complaints about chain shops ruining downtown, blah, blah blah). I would love to see a local doughnut shop there, but unless or until that happens, bring on DD.
From local Hipsters to Real Estate agents the rumors are flying in Asheville. Why? Probably to mess with all the pseudo hippies and middle aged trustafarians that have moved to Asheville and taken up the anti growth chant. Throw in a rumor and they all run towards it while the contracts are being signed on another location. LOL
Jason- What’s going in to the corner unit in the bottom of the Flat Iron building (facing the iron)? Starbucks would have killed it right there.
platic paddy, some sort of jewelry store. there’s a name on the window, but I can’t recall it at the moment.
the guy that owns that building owns world coffee – somehow i don’t think any coffeeshops are going in there.
