SATURDAY PANELS DETAILS AND SCHEDULE

PANELISTS INCLUDE ORBITAL, CHAD HUGO OF THE NEPTUNES, MORTON SUBOTNICK

AND A SPECIAL PRESENTATION BY THE DESIGNERS OF THE MOOG GOOGLE DOODLE

Moogfest 2012, the festival of electronic and visionary music that celebrates the innovative spirit of Bob Moog, is just around the corner! With less than two weeks to go, Moogfest, Moog Music and the Bob Moog Foundation are pleased to announce this year’s panels, offering attendees an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the confluence of technology and creativity that is the world of Bob Moog.

This year’s panels are highlighted by a special presentation from members of the Google engineering team who designed the now infamous Google Doodle, which was launched on May 23rd, Bob Moog’s birthday.

This year, the Google doodle team is extensively involved in the festival in conjunction with AC Entertainment and Moog Music. The free panels will be held at Diana Wortham Theatre starting at noon on Saturday, Oct. 27 and are open to all Moogfest attendees and the general public. All seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. More collaboartions between the Google doodle team, Moogfest and Moog Music will be announced shortly.

“More than anything, Google doodles are a celebration of creativity and innovation. Naturally, Bob Moog, a great innovator in creativity, was a perfect fit for one of our special logos,” says Ryan Germick, the Google doodle team lead. “It was a great joy to borrow a bit of Bob’s magic on our homepage, and we’re honored to be part of Moogfest as well.”

“Moogfest is thrilled to welcome Google to this year’s festival and look forward to the expertise and knowledge they’ll share with us at the Moogfest panels and other events,” says Ashley Capps, president of AC Entertainment. “Innovation was in Bob Moog’s DNA as it is with Google. And, you know, if you haven’t tried messing around with Google’s Moog Doodle, be careful. It’s totally addictive!”
