Word on the street: Rio de Brazil Steakhouse coming to south Asheville

Word on the street is that Rio de Brazil Steakhouse is planning to open on Hendersonville Road. The location at 1829 Hendersonville Road is an old Cici’s Pizza joint.

Rio de Brazil Steakhouse is a version of a chain of a Brazilian style of steakhouse that’s become popular in the U.S. called Fogo de Chao. Here is what wiki has to say about Fogo:

Lunch and dinner at Fogo de Chão operate the same and consist of the same items, at different prices. There is a fixed price for endless salad bar and tableside meat service. Customers can choose just their favorites, or simply wait for their favorite cut of meat to make its rounds.
The meal comes in two parts. The first starts at the gourmet salad bar, which offers cured meats, smoked salmon, imported cheeses aged from 1-30 years, vegetables, and salads. The second part of the meal consists of fifteen different cuts of beef, pork, chicken and lamb, served tableside.

Same idea, as I understand it, with Rio de Brazil Steakhouse. More as I get it.

Foodies, I need help.

Is there a restaurant on Hendersonville Rd. (preferably near the I-26 / Hxy 191 junction) that has a small separate dining room for groups of no more than 12?

It sounds awesome…until I think of Bridesmaids and their adventure with the Brazilian steakhouse, other than that, sounds great.

I know where that is, right next to Tupelo Honey South. Interesting location. Cici’s had a little enclosed patio area. Not a bad spot. Good luck!

That’s funny, we just went Chima in Charlotte this past weekend, really was a lot of food, can’t say I would go to a Brazilian steak house again, for the price I would much rather go to Ruth’s Chris.
