Word on the street: Movie to be filmed in Asheville

I threw out this rumor before – that a movie was to be filmed in Asheville – but I had vague information and only heard a few vague things back. The rumor is still going around, though. Here’s the latest:

This may be total rumor, but last night I overheard that some book series with a heroine that carries a bow had booked up the Doubletree Hotel for filming here for the next three months.

Anyone got anything else?

That would be awesome. I love those books, and this is exactly the right area to film it.

I tweeted about it yesterday. Unconfirmed officially but source tells me director Gary Ross is in town with team scouting for The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. It's a Lionsgate film with a budget of 60 million. Keep your fingers crossed.
