Press release:

ASHEVILLE – The Western North Carolina Crime Victims’ Coalition is sponsoring its 5th annual Crime Victims’ Rights Honorary Luncheon at noon April 28, at the Fiddlin’ Pig restaurant, located at 28 Tunnel Road.

The luncheon honors area crime victims and their families in recognition of their struggles and triumphs, as well as the people who serve them.

Guest speaker will be Angela Dove, author of the book, “No Room for Doubt.”
The book chronicles the murder of Ms. Dove’s stepmother, Debi Whitlock, in March of 1988.

“During my research into Debi’s case,” she writes, “I uncovered the incredible body of evidence against my father. Suddenly, a far more profound and complex story emerged. ‘No Room for Doubt’ is an authentic view of how one violent crime reverberated through a family, through a community, and still continues to change lives.”

Ms. Dove’s father was cleared of the crime, but remained under suspicion by many in the community even after his death.

Seating at the luncheon is limited. To reserve a space, call Lynne Crout at (828) 259-0664 or Melissa Reed at (828) 251-1844.
