On Wednesday during the 5 o’clock newscast on WLOS Channel 13, the news show suddenly switched to an episode of The Simpsons. It was unreal. You’re watching the news one minute, then about three minutes into the newscast, it goes to the cartoon. Was that crazy or what?

I’m guessing WLOSers must have received some complaints. But what caused the snafu? Was it someone at Charter who effed up? How could such a thing happen?

Anybody with details, please leave a comment.

Umm, hate to say it but Larry is hardly "out on the streets" looking for stories.

realityczech…you are a total moron. go blog somewhere else. u know nothing about news and nothing about the people who read it. larry blunt is the best person at wlos. he’s the only one who actually works. he gets out in the streets and finds stories that people care about. he’s a real journalist not just someone who just tells "he said she said" stories all day long. compare him to darcel…who lucked out 30 years ago by filling in on an anchor desk and hasn’t left since. she doesn’t know news…she just reads it. larry belongs back in denver, a real tv market

It must have been Charter, because when the news came back, they didn’t even acknowledge there was a problem, which makes me think they were not even aware of the issue. It was funny though either way.

The Simpsons are better any day. Every morning I watch WLOS to see the traffic updates and everyday someone screws up on there. Either no mic or they read the wrong lines, it is a very half done broadcast. I am ashamed as I know tourist tune in. I guess they figure with the way the City of Asheville handles growth and new projects downtown that we are lucky to have a TV station at all.

With Larry Blunt holding down that News 13 anchor chair, I would rather watch The Simpsons. WLOS already knows who to bring back. Just do it.

It had to have been somebody at Charter. We didn’t even notice it during the broadcasts that day. From what I heard, we actually were getting complaints in the newsroom.
