Win two tickets now to the 8 p.m. performance of The Dreaming, a summer show from Blue Skies Burlesque brought back due to popular demand.

Just be the first correct commenter to tell us who sang the 1954 hit, “Mr. Sandman.”

Only commenters who have not won anything from Ashvegas in the last 30 days are eligible to win. Please use your correct first and last name in your comment, so we know who to hold your tickets for.

Ticket contests on Ashvegas (USUALLY) happen at 9 a.m. and/or 3 p.m weekdays, though we reserve the right to run a contest anytime.

After a sellout debut this summer, a new burlesque company is back by popular demand. “The Dreaming,” a show inspired by dreams (and with a creepy touch that borders on nightmare), includes drag acts, puppetry, pole dancing and striptease.

“There will be extravagant dance numbers in the style of the Ziegfeld Follies. Most importantly, there will be beautiful ladies presenting carefully crafted routines, each one inspired by a dream.”

From the burlesque company’s Facebook page:

The Dreaming returns, with more creepy and more strange. If you missed the first time around this is your chance with a show at 8pm on Thursday the 15th and two shows each on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and 10:30pm. Tickets are $15. Get them before they sell out at http://themagneticfield.com/events

Back by popular demand, Blue Skies Burlesque returns to the Magnetic Field for a second run of their debut show, The Dreaming. After a sold out debut in August, they have been invited back for a second run of five shows. This run promises to be more haunting with a few new surprises to be revealed.

All original acts will be performed in neo and classical burlesque styles with a mix of formats to include drag, puppetry, pole dancing and striptease. The Blue Skies dancers will be donning original costuming designed and crafted by local fashion studio, LyonHart Designs. Choreographed numbers draw on themes from the Ziegfeld Follies, the Cotton Club, and Russ Meyer films as each performer presents their interpretations as inspired by a dream.

Burlesque already plays on our desires for beauty and sensuality, and in The Dreaming the audience will be asked to go even further. Guided by the Sandman himself, attendees will experience the journey of the strange, dark and sometimes twisted workings of the sleeping mind. Blue Skies Burlesque revels in the macabre and finds beauty in the grotesque. While comedy is still an important element, this is not your typical 1950s inspired pinup striptease.
