So, will WLOSers announce on the air today that Scottie2Hottie and Good Wife Candice have announced they’ll be leaving, as stated in a management e-mail yesterday? We’ll have to wait and watch.

The note said Scottie2Hottie’s last day is Dec. 26. It also sounded like Candice might stick around for a bit longer. (Thank goodness. Those Road Rebel reports won’t be the same without her.)

The conventional wisdom is that Scottie2Hottie really wanted the lead anchor position that went to Larry Blunt. When he got passed over, he was ready to move on. He’s only been at WLOS for what, two years, max.

So, who will be next? Let’s hope, for one thing, that the station hires a reporter of color. Cherub Charu and Jon “Punnyman” Le are the only minority reporters on staff at WLOS right now, right? They’ll probably end up with another white male to replace Scottie, but at least we can hope for a little diversity.

It dosen’t break my heart in the least that Candice is leaving WLOS. I find it highly annoying when they end every newscast, the only thing Candice can say is…"Sounds good, See ya later!". With Candice gone, Julie will now be the dumbest person sitting at the news desk.

Reading – and giggling through – your regular reports (and never watching the news, I confess) I would hope that the first things to value would be skill, experience and truthfulness. And then trustworthiness.

I would hope, this being the 21st century, that skin colour (no more than sex) couldn’t enter into a hiring decision.
