What’s up with WLOS?

Loyal reader Bmac throws this out in response to our query asking what was up with WLOS looking to hire an anchor/reporter:

They’re also looking for a producer and photographer in addition to a news anchor/reporter. All the listings have the same date which makes me think there’s going to be a new broadcast. It wouldn’t make sense to make the morning news go till 9am like FOX, especially if Bob is leaving. It’s more likely they’ll start a 10pm show on MY40 to compete with FOX.
The meteorologist opening is still listed, so I guess they haven’t found anyone to take Bob’s spot. I’ll miss the Stumbles & Mumbles morning show when Bob leaves. Maybe Jay will do morning weather and they could put Simple Simon with Victoria and it could be the Stumbles & Bumbles morning show.

Hey Ash, why are you upset with Russ. Jealous perhaps that your girlfriend thinks he cute. I hope you got some good pictures of WLOSers last night, cause we sure got good pictures of you!

Well, if the morning show is in shambles the first thing WLOS can do is give Victoria Dunkle the boot and hire a new anchor for the morning show. Also, they can move Julie Wunder up to do Bob’s job at morning/noon. Then on weekends they can move Pat Simon to the anchor desk and let Jay work as Weekend Meteorologist. The 10 pm show should consist of completely new people (anchor and Meteorologist) and let either Stan or maybe Edward do sports.

Nothing concrete on any other defections.

WOW, another reporter job posting was listed as of 7-27 on the Sinclair Website…makes you wonder if something drastic is going on over at WLOS?

WLOS has 6 female reporters compared to 3 males (not counting Bowen and Wunder who sometimes report during the week).

Michelle Boudin was pretty darn good, but she was replaced with the laughable K-Pride.

Maybe they should look for a couple a guys this time around.

If Russ leaves they have no one left who is a strong lead reporter. It’s also sad management hasn’t tried to find good replacements and good reporters for years now. Lot’s of girls who want to be reporters and will never be taken seriously by viewers. Can anyone inside tell us who is leaving? I have a wish list. Do you Ash?

Maybe Russ, Larry and/or Mike are using their Emmys as a springboard to something bigger.

If Russ is one of the departures it will be a sad, sad day.

I would guess that it would be a reporter who leaves.

If MY 40 is doing a 10 pm newscast then they outta scrap the 6:30 newscast.

They are adding a 10 pm on MY40. My friends in the know tell me everyone is hoping they’ll bring in a new female anchor for it but looks like they won’t.
Any idea who’s up for the job inside? I can’t begin to guess because no one who stands in for the women are any good. There are also a lot of people who are leaving, but can’t find out who.
