Whatever happened to the Asheville 11?
This poster on the streets of Ashvegas claims the so-called anarchists are getting railroaded by The Man. Have all these kids been prosecuted? Anything new here, or is this just an old poster? Background here.

You see this is uncalled for, these liitle punks started this and then try rally the locals when they get caught. Its going to backfire, they broke the law and if found guilty they need to pay the price.

I will gladly agree with anyone about the dangers of unchecked corporate power.
If you think smashing the window of a small business in any way hurts the man, you are stupid.
And, you were good for business for whoever replaced the window.

The senseless act of vandalism perpetrated by these "Asheville 11" is still fresh in my mind. I work on Battery Park, and see the garbage cans they once toppled, the sculpture they damaged, and the businesses they harmed.

Their actions were not that of Anarchism, they were the actions of stupidity, ignorance, and harm. They should be fully prosecuted.

In brief, if their "message" was so important they should be more than happy to accept the full term of their prison sentence.

I believe that trials are set for Febuary.

I don't know the details of the case, but, if there is proof they did it, they deserve everything they've got coming to them.

Stupid little bastards …. if you've got a problem with "the man", don't take it out on local store owners and local citizens.

Please oh please let The Man THROW THE BOOK at them. My sincere regret is that more than two dozen escaped capture and that this group can't be called "The Asheville Forty-or-so."

Their friends tactic of gluing posters on private property (and sticking mail labels on news boxes) is NOT endearing me to their cause.

People stopped caring because a bunch of punk ass kids from out of town pretending to be anarchists to escape responsibility for being immature hooligans isn't attention-grabbing for very long.

J, there is some info at the site above.

The next court date for some of them is December 6.
