Looks like WLOSers are getting a new cameraman – a bearded Yankee with a yen for camera work. Here’s his story:

nestled in the bosom of the blue ridge mountains between two rivers, asheville is the biggest little city in western north carolina. in mid-march i’ll be joining the news team at wlos-tv and i’m eager to get in the mix, learn the lay of the land, and do my thing like a chicken wing. my family and i are all excited to be moving to such a diverse and eclectic city and we’re looking forward to making some new friends and raising our son in the crisp mountain air.

of course, it will be bittersweet to leave fox 8 behind. i never really connected with the area, but my co-workers were definitely a top-notch group. unfazed my my northern accent and lumberjack’s beard, the fine folks of el ocho took me under their wings, bestowed upon me the nickname “joey flash”, and introduced me to the dark art of photojournalism. i became sponge-like in my efforts to learn the craft, and i’m truly a better journalist because of it.

asheville, here we come!

Joey Flash is an odd-ass bird who should fit in amid the kooks of AshVegas. I look forward to following his exploits here and at his blog. Tell him Lenslinger sent ya…

Is that really his picture? He looks like an extra from a Will Ferrell movie. He also looks like he probably giggled like a 12 year old boy over getting to use the word "bosom" in his blurb.
