UNCA beats Winthrop, wins Big South regular season

The UNCA Bulldogs closed out one of their best men’s basketball seasons in years this evening by beating Winthrop 63-50. With the win, UNCA won the home court advantage in the upcoming Big South Conference tournament. It could mean we’ll see conference tournament basketball at the Asheville Civic Center.

UNCA also secured an NIT bid, so if the team doesn’t win its conference tournament and get into the NCAA tournament, they’ll have the NIT to fall back on.
