The Asheville Citizen-Times and USA Today have reports, though not much detail. Gabrielle Giffords is recovering from a brain injury when she was shot in January in Tuscon. Six people were killed in the shooting rampage at a Giffords political event.

From USA Today:

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., left Houston on Sunday for Asheville, N.C., where she will undergo two weeks of intensive therapy.
Giffords has been working with the therapist for several months already at TIRR Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston, where she is re-learning to walk and talk after she was shot in the head in a mass shooting in the parking lot of a Safeway store near Tucson on Jan. 8.
Mark Kimble, a spokesman in Giffords’ Tucson office, confirmed the trip Sunday but would not say anything more about the therapist, type of therapy, where the treatment would take place, or whether Giffords’ husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, accompanied her on the trip.

I wish her the best. As a fellow motorcyclist, I hope she can ride again someday. I truly do.

    Godspeed.
