Press release:

MANNA FoodBank and Tupelo Honey Café  South, located at 1829 Hendersonville Road, are joining together to fight hunger in our local community.

Starting July 13, 2010, every Tuesday evening at Tupelo Honey Café’s south location from the hours of 4:30- 9:00pm will be MANNA FoodBank Night.

On these evenings, Tupelo Honey Café South will donate 10% of gross proceeds back to MANNA to help fight area hunger. In addition, there will be collection boxes available to the public for canned good donations. If you bring in a canned good, with purchase of an entrée, you will receive a free fried green tomatoes appetizer. The “FoodBank Nights” are scheduled to run for eight weeks throughout the summer, culminating on August 31, 2010.

2010 continues to present hardships for many of our Western North Carolina neighbors.  According to Hunger In America 2010, 106,600 different people seek emergency food assistance in a single year and 1 in 6 of our neighbors still remain in need.
