As spring arrives, there is also the much-anticipated season opening of dozens of Western North Carolina farmers and tailgate markets. Throughout the region, visitors can sample fresh local produce and products at a whopping 45 farmers tailgate markets in the region.
Here is a list of farmers tailgate markets and the start dates for 2008 estimated based on information the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, which you can also visit for a complete list of dozens of regional markets.
