This summer in Asheville is going to be jam-packed with music. Two of the biggest events will come in June, with the Phish concert at the Asheville Civic Center on June 9, and the annual Bele Chere street party on the weekend of July 24.

The latest Rolling Stone magazine has a good update on how the Phish reunion is going. As expected, its massive crowds, two-hour plus shows and incredible jam music. How will Phish fans treat the city of Ashvegas, and how will the city receive them? We’ll have to wait and see.

Speaking of reunions, Rolling Stone also notes that there’s a huge resurgence of interest in ’90s music going on right now, with a bunch of ’90s bands announcing shows and tours. Creed is the latest to jump on the bandwagon.

Meantime, we’re almost into May, and that means the city’s big Bele Chere festival will be here before we know it. The festival will be smaller this year than last, with one less stage and zero ticketed events. That means all the music is free.

But who will be playing? Yo Mamma’s Big Fat Booty Band is playing, but that’s all I’ve heard about . Bruce Hornsby will be at the Biltmore Estate that weekend, btw.

Anybody know who else will be playing Bele Chere?
