pinholeHere’s the press release from loyal reader Bridget:

Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day Workshop
Suggested donation: $5 (we won’t turn anyone away for lack of funds)
Fun for all ages: Sunday, April 28, 12-5pm

Established in 2000, this is an international event that has been growing in popularity in recent years, created to promote and celebrate the art of pinhole photography. “On this unique day, we encourage people throughout the world to take some time off from the increasingly technological world we live in and to participate in the simple act of making a pinhole photograph, and to share their visions and help spread the unusual beauty of this historical photographic process.” Limited cameras will be available for people to use, or you can bring your own and make prints that we will upload to pinholeday.org for you. (You can also download instructions for an easy pinhole camera that you can build yourself and bring.) This is a perfect opportunity for those who have never seen analog photography in action to visit the darkroom and see a bit of what we do! No formal class is included, just a casual introduction as you arrive, drop in for 20 minutes or for two hours and we’ll get you at least one negative print! (If you would like to learn more, consider our Pinhole Camera workshop the weekend before — see above!) Email Bridget with questions. (bridgetconn@gmail.com)
