Love Asheville’s outdoors scene and want to see it get even more recognition? Voting ends Sept. 15 in Blue Ridge Outdoors’ Best Mountain Towns poll, and Asheville, AKA Online Poll City U.S.A., has lost its lead.

We’re now in second place, with Roanoake, Va. receiving the most votes. Vote here.

From a press release:

Blue Ridge Outdoors Best Mountain Towns and Outdoor Cities: Readers’ Choice Awards

We’re looking for Funkytown: the coolest, hippest, and most happening outdoor communities in the mountains.

Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine’s annual mountain towns issue features the top outdoor getaways—mountain biking meccas, whitewater oases, climbing paradises, and trail nirvanas. This year, we’re asking readers to select the best outdoor towns in the Blue Ridge. Editors have narrowed the field to 38 vibrant towns in three population categories: cities over 100,000, mid-sized towns between 10,000-99,000, and small towns with less than 10,000 people.

Beginning August 1, readers can vote for their favorite towns and cities in each category. Winners will be featured in the November issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, and we’ll shoot our cover photo in one of the reader-selected towns.

Vote for your favorite mountain towns and outdoor cities at www.blueridgeoutdoors.com/contests/best-mountain-towns or using the app on the Blue Ridge Outdoors Facebook page. Voting ends September 15.
