From the Tuckasegee Reader:

SYLVA–Spring Street Cafe, an on-again off-again favorite on Sylva’s restaurant scene, is off again.

Owner Emily Elders, who re-opened the cafe last January after it had been closed for a year, announced late Thursday night that she would close the cafe’s doors on October 18.

“We could not have done this without [the members of our community],” Elders wrote in a release.

“With your support, encouragement and help, we managed to revive the ideal that Spring Street represented to all of us: local, organic food in a creative, safe, and comfortable environment that welcomed and encouraged all kinds in our small community. You came out to clean and repair before our opening; you came in the snow, and the unbearable heat; you came with friends and family and loved ones and shared with them your part in something that we all made together. You have been the most wonderful customers and supporters that we could have asked for.”
