After starting out with a bang, this week’s news is starting to sound like the same thing, over and over. Here’s what WLOSers had:

Search for missing hiker
Police searched for missing hiker John Bryant, a Henderson County resident presumed dead since his wife was founded dead in Pisgah National Forest last year. Police think suspect Gary Hilton killed her, but there have been no charges brought in the case. The new searched centered on Union County, Ga., and Polk County, Tenn.

Funerals today
WLOSer Carolyn Ryan said she attended a memorial service for two of three people shot dead last week in the Nebo community of Western North Carolina. Vicky Lowery was the girlfriend of shooter Stephen Buckner, who is charged with killing her, her daughter Chelsea Gregory, as well as his own daughter. The funeral for Lowery and Gregory will be held Friday.

In other news…
Rex Sellers was sentenced to three life terms for killing three members of his family out in Robbinsville in Graham County… Henderson County officials are getting ready to turn over the animals in the no-kill animal shelter All Creatures Great and Small to the state. About 460 animals are left to deal with, and a state veterinarian says some of those animals are simply un-adoptable and will be put to sleep… There was an annual town hall meeting in Marion set up for people to complain… People are also complaining about the weather because it’s cold outside. Flurries blew around Thursday, but there was no accumulation.
