WRAL has the story:

A television station owner has stopped airing a commercial from a Republican group critical of Democratic nominee for governor Beverly Perdue after her attorney complained.

But the Republican Governors Association said Wednesday’s decision by Sinclair Broadcasting doesn’t matter because a new commercial will be running Friday.

Sinclair stations include WLOS-TV in Asheville and WXLV-TV in Greensboro. The commercial was paid for by an association political action committee.

Wallace said the ad was false because it said North Carolina has the largest growing tax burden in the country since Perdue became lieutenant governor. But the organization that studies tax issues says that’s no longer true.

RGA spokesman Chris Schrimpf said the ad had already run for several days and that a new association ad will be running Friday.
